Michael Braunagel, SDir Strategic Alliances and Licensing
Dr. Michael Braunagel co-founded Affitech AS in Norway while doing his post-doctoral training at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ), Heidelberg, Germany and joined the Company’s when it started its operations in 1997.
From 1999 until 2002, Michael Braunagel served as Director of Antibody Discovery, being responsible for all customer initiated projects before taking over his current position. Michael Braunagel did his PhD thesis and post-doctoral training at the German Cancer Research Centre, in Heidelberg, Germany. During this time he was part of the core group in Prof. Melvyn Little’s laboratory at the German Cancer Research Center where phage display technology was developed at that time.
His working fields consisted of the optimization of the phagemid system and protocols for its use as well as the construction of a semi synthetic antibody library, resulting in a patent application and several publications.
