Affitech was established in 1997 by a group of Norwegian and German scien- tists on the basis of the acquisition of the worldwide exclusive rights from the German Cancer Center of “Breitling“ IP which covered phagemid display of human antibodies.
In May 2009, Affitech AS merged with Pharmexa A/S to form Affitech A/S resulting in the company now being listed on the Nasdaq OMX exchange.
Affitech A/S is one of only a limitied number of independent companies with a strong position in high throughput screen- ing of antibody libraries. With its proprietary technologies, Affitech A/S is developing fully human monoclonal antibody drugs of two types:
Antibodies directed against molecular targets known to play a role in diseases but not currently addressed by existing drugs, and
New and improved versions of marketed antibody therapeutics.
