Affitech AS strengthens its management team with two new appointments


Oslo, Norway, 1st November 2000 ? Affitech AS, the recombinant human antibody company, today announced the appointments of Dr Rathin Das to the position of Director of International Business Marketing, and Dr Glenn Gundersen, PhD, to the position of Director of Business Development. Dr Das will focus primarily on North America, whilst Dr. Gundersen will have special responsibility in the therapeutic antibody market.

Dr. Das has gained in-depth experience in the licensing process from both large multibillion-dollar organizations and start-up companies. Through his work as Editor of the biotechnology publication, American Biotechnology Laboratory, and as author of a comprehensive Market Analysis Report on Display Technologies, undertaken by assignment from D&MD Reports, Westborough, MA, his sector knowledge will be an asset to Affitech as the company initiates deals with new international partners. Dr. Das will head up the US affiliate of Affitech, and will be based in Walnut Creek, an East Bay suburb of San Francisco, California. With over 16 years of experience in biopharmaceutical R&D and business development, Dr. Das will further strengthen the established Business Development team at Affitech.

Prior to joining Affitech, Dr. Gundersen spent 9 years as a Director of the Oncology at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) in Norway. He has gained extensive experience in the disciplines of marketing, sales and clinical trials in addition to developing a strong network within the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Gundersen will be responsible for the new therapeutic projects that Affitech has recently undertaken.
